When to Go
  • High Season

The best time to visit Cambodia is in winter and early spring when the weather is mildly warm and dry. Temperatures stay in the high 20s in the coolest months from January to March. You will get to enjoy the majestic temple complexes of Cambodia thanks to low humidity. Trekking in the countryside is also delightful as the rice fields are blooming after the monsoon rains. Bear in mind that this is the high season for Cambodia tours, so iconic sights like Angkor Wat will be bustling with travelers.

November is one of the best months to visit Cambodia to experience the cultural atmosphere to the fullest. Folks celebrate the end of the monsoon all around the country with dazzling festivals. Christmas is also one of the favorite times for visiting Cambodia.

  • Low Season

Cambodia enters the green season of the monsoon towards the end of April. Temperatures reach 40°C inland, making it slightly uncomfortable for sightseeing in major cities like Phnom Penh. However, the summer months offer a quiet time for the best places to visit in Cambodia free of the crowds. You will have the must-see attractions to yourself as it is the low season. Nature is at its liveliest at this time of year. Lush vegetation and flooded rice fields make up the postcard sceneries characteristic of Cambodia. If you are traveling in Cambodia from May to October, make sure you packed the essential gear for a comfortable trip in the monsoon.

Useful Tips for Cambodia Tours

money

Money Matters

The currency in Cambodia is the Khmer Riel (KHR). We recommend you go to the city center to change your money.

ATMs are available in central locations, but access is difficult in rural areas. Credit cards are widely accepted but not accepted for small payments. We recommend carrying cash with you at all times.

Cambodian food

The Food Scene

Rice and freshwater fish are the staples of Cambodian cuisine. Also, try the rich-in-taste samlor, the traditional soup of Cambodia.

Drinking tap water is not safe in every area in Cambodia. We recommend bottled water at all times.

Try Angkor Beer and the authentic palm wine in the Cambodian countryside. Bear in mind that palm wine can be quite strong compared to your average wine.
