With 8000km of piste spread over 300 resorts and some of the biggest names in world skiing, France has justifiable claims to be the leader of the European ski scene. Around thirty percent of the key ski resorts on the globe are in France and it has the largest linked ski areas in the world meaning that you ski numerous resorts with one pass. Due to the high altitude of the resorts, the season generally lasts from December to May, and some are even open in the summer. What a bonus!
