Other things to know before you go
  • Our South Korea tours are operated in partnership with Tomato Travel, an experienced local operator. All on-ground services are delivered by our trusted local partner.
  • Visa Requirements: Japan and South Korea both offer visa-free entry for many nationalities for short-term tourism, while others may require a visa before travel. Entry requirements vary by passport, so check the latest regulations for both countries well in advance of departure and obtain any necessary travel authorisations before your tour begins.
  • Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is required for this tour and must cover your entire journey in both Japan and South Korea. Your Tour Leader will ask for your insurance details on Day 1.
  • Included Costs: Meals typically include most breakfasts and selected lunches or dinners, depending on your itinerary. Some meals, optional activities, and personal expenses are not included, giving you the flexibility to experience local Japanese and Korean cuisine at your own pace.
  • Itinerary & Pace: This multi-country land-based adventure combines Japan and South Korea, featuring high-speed rail journeys, comfortable coach travel, and flight connections between countries. Expect a full sightseeing schedule, regular walking, and some early departures to make the most of each destination.
  • Optional Activities: During your free time, you may choose to visit museums, observation decks, traditional gardens, or local markets, experience a Japanese onsen or Korean jjimjilbang, enjoy cultural performances, or sample regional food specialities. These experiences are available at your own expense.
  • Packing: Pack comfortable walking shoes, lightweight layers for varying temperatures, a light rain jacket, and modest clothing for visits to temples, shrines, and other cultural sites. A small overnight bag may also be useful for select rail journeys if applicable.
  • Solo Travellers: Solo travellers can choose to upgrade to a private room or share accommodation with a fellow traveller of the same gender at no additional cost (subject to availability).
