Passport & Visas

Most nationals require a visa to enter Thailand for tourist visits. If you are a citizen of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, you don’t require a visa to stay in Thailand for less than 30 days.

Travelers to Thailand must have a passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months from their arrival date in Myanmar. You should carry your passport or travel document with you at all times.

When to Go

The best time to visit Thailand is from November to April when the monsoon rains give way to clear skies and comfortably dry weather. Temperatures vary between 30 and 35. But in March and April, the western part of the country may see hot temperatures up to 37 degrees. January and February are perfect months if you wish to combine dry weather with mild temperatures. This is also the high time for the country’s cultural events and traditional celebrations. Locals make sure to hail the perfect water level in the canals of Bangkok.

Come in the rainy season and you will get to experience the wild side of Thailand at its most vigorous. From May to October, the Thai countryside springs to life with the forces of the monsoon season. The lush forests brim with the sounds of wildlife. There is also no better time to experience the floating markets of the iconic Thai cities. This is the best time to visit Thailand for a truly authentic cultural journey. After all, it is the rains that have fashioned Thai culture into its mesmerizing shape.

If you are looking for something in between, the shoulder season is always an ideal time for trips to Thailand. May and June offer balmy weather with occasional rainfall in the afternoon. These brief showers are rejuvenating and offer unforgettable views, especially in less urban areas like Kanchanaburi and Sukhothai.
