8 Reasons Not To Visit The Balearics

The Balearics are situated in the Mediterranean and are made up of four islands: Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera. Each of these islands have their own appeal and charm and, Ibiza and Majorca predominantly, are among the most visited destinations in Europe. However, the apparent amazing weather, beaches, clear waters, party scene, old towns, mountains and cuisine doesn’t really phase us. In fact, why would you even want to visit such a place!?

Here are 8 reasons NOT to visit the Balearics:

1. There’s not enough sun

With 300 days of sun, the Balearic Islands just don’t offer enough sunny days. Sounds like it’s a permanent winter destination.

2. The party scene is boring

Boat parties, pre-party bars, world famous night clubs and beach gatherings. The Balearics such as Ibiza are a mecca for those festivity starved people. But, we’re sure this is all wrong, we heard it’s more like a retirement village.

3. The beaches are average

Even though the beaches of the Balearics are considered not only the best in the Mediterranean and also the world, their golden sandy beaches and sapphire translucent waters don’t sound very appetising.

4. Renowned DJ’s suck

Apparently Ibiza provides the crème de la crème of DJs. Names such Avicii, David Guetta, Axwell, Steve Aoki and Kygo are just a few DJs that appear in Ibiza. The prices are high but the clubbing experience is one of a kind and worth every penny, or so we’ve heard.

5. The islands are ugly

The islands of Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca are pretty standard in terms of their exquisiteness. They offer lush green valleys, beautiful mountain surroundings, plenty of forests and ample picturesque beaches. Sounds mundane to us!

6. The sunset’s too typical

Overlooking a sandy beach and the Mediterranean Sea, set on a hillside, you watch the sun go down and the moon ride up. Blah, this sucks.

7. The food is gross

The Balearics offer varied cuisines of meat and fish, fresh seafood, tapas and paella. Yuck, sounds disgusting.

8. It lacks culture and heritage

Traditionally known for their beaches the Balearics also offer UNSECO sites, cathedrals, cute cobbled streets and stone monuments. If you ask us, the Balearics don’t have much to offer.
