Luís I Bridge (Ponte de Dom Luís I) is a world-famous double-deck metal arch bridge that spans the Douro River, connecting Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia. Designed by German engineer Théophile Seyrig, a student of Gustave Eiffel, the bridge opened in 1886 and stands as an iconic symbol of the city.
