Puerta del Sol

Puerta del Sol ("Gate of the Sun") is one of Madrid’s busiest and most famous public squares, serving as the heart of Spain's road network. Marked by the famous Kilometer Zero (Kilómetro Cero) plaque, the square is renowned for its iconic clock tower at the Real Casa de Correos, where Spaniards gather every New Year's Eve, and the famous bronze statue of El Oso y el Madroño (The Bear and the Strawberry Tree), the official symbol of Madrid.
