Morocco Travel Advice

Make sure you are up-to-date with the pre-departure essentials before your trip to Morocco.

Passport & Visas

If you are a citizen of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Ireland, or Germany, you do not require a visa in Morocco for stays up to 90 days. South Africans should apply for a visa well in advance. Check with the Moroccan Embassy website for the latest information regarding visas and Morocco travel advice.

We recommend that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival in Morocco, and you should carry your passport or travel document with you at all times.

If you are going on a combined trip, make sure you meet the visa requirements for the other countries on your tour.

Check with your embassy or your official government website for regulations. Bear in mind that our Morocco travel advice is for guidance only. You are advised to check the details as it is your responsibility to have all the official documents ready before traveling.

You can consult the latest travel advice from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. We recommend all travelers to check their Government National Travel Advisory prior to their departure: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA

Travel Insurance

You need to have valid and adequate travel insurance before your tour with Travel Talk begins. It is your responsibility to have your insurance ready, but we are more than happy to provide you with guidance in the process. You can visit our travel insurance page for more details. For now, here is some Morocco travel advice that you need to keep in mind when choosing the right plan.

  • To prevent any unwanted surprises, make sure your plan covers emergency medical situations, cancellations, and threats against your personal belongings.
  • Based on your tour, there may be adventure activities that your travel insurance does not include. So, look carefully at what your policy covers.
  • Make sure you have the latest information regarding safety and health issues. You can find useful Morocco travel advice on governmental websites.
When to Go
  • High Season

The best time to visit Morocco is in autumn and spring when the weather is mild and perfect for cultural and adventure tours alike. These transition seasons make all corners of the diverse geography of Morocco enjoyable for travelers, including the Sahara to the mighty Atlas. Temperatures vary between comfortable levels of 20 and 30°C  from March till June. Do pack for occasional rains in the coastal towns like Agadir, and beware of the sandstorms of mid-April when you are heading to the desert.

April and May is the high season for the Sahara, but don’t worry about the crowds. There is enough space for all travelers on Morocco’s endless sand dunes.

  • Low Season

You will see the best of the Atlantic coast in the dry summer months, and the quietest of the iconic Moroccan cities in Winter. Although not the most preferred, these seasons still offer the best time to visit Morocco if you come prepared. Pack the right gear for the continental heat, and you will enjoy the best places to visit in Morocco during the long summer days.
