Prepare for plenty of ‘oh wow’ moments in the central highlands of Sri Lanka! Today, we’ll head towards the Horton Plains National Park to trek the endless stretches of green pastures at this eco-tourism hideout! Sitting at an altitude of 7,000ft, the plateau is covered in flora and fauna varieties that may be found nowhere else on Earth. Along the trek, watch out for the thundering Bakers Falls, and catch a glimspe of the ‘World’s End’ lookout. Watch out for Sambar Deer, Wild Boar, Otters and if you are extremely lucky the beloved Sri Lankan Leopard. In the late afternoon, enjoy free time back in Nuwara Eliya to wander through the countryside.

Solid week circling the country, some initial problems between Travel Talk and the local agency, and communication around the itinerary each day would be beneficial from the start as the itinerary was a guideline but bits were swapped out/around. Expect to pay $25 every day for some form of safari or Temple site and everything is weather dependent. First and last hotels were good, the other two were not up to standard. Note the hotel star ratings are one less than advertised on this website (check Google). It would be good to eat at some local places as the expensive tourists buffets get old really fast.
That being said I did enjoy the safaris and it’s very good value for money for full time guide and driver.
