Day 1: Pamplona.
Sunday July 5.
After selecting your tent gather round the campground this afternoon as we meet other tour members and the guide. Listen up for a fast and informal meeting with the leader including registration and a short brief about the adventures ahead and some cultural info. There is an optional excursion to San Sebastian, but tonight we celebrate with a pool party.
Day 2: Opening Ceremony.
Monday July 6.
Walk around the small town and drink up the Spanish way of life in cafes and tapas bars. Explore the side streets and cobbled stone pathways at your own pace. We learn about the history, tradition and culture of why people gather for this unique custom. Afterwards we celebrate the festival opening in style and attend the champagne opening ceremony. During the ceremony we have great views of the stunning celebration fireworks display. This marks the opening of the festival and kicks off all the fun and mayhem! Then to sleep so we are fully re-charged for an exciting and heart stopping day tomorrow.
Day 3: Running of the bulls.
Tuesday July 7.
Ready set GO! Today we are running in front of bulls that have been let loose on a course of the town's streets, (or watching safety from the sidelines) as the mayhem unfolds before our very eyes. Injuries are common to the participants who may be gored or trampled, so be warned this is not for the faint hearted. The purpose of this event originally was the transport of the bulls from the off-site corrals where they had spent the night, to the bullring where they would be killed in the evening.
Day 4: Running of the bulls.
Wednesday July 8.
After breakfast we have another heart stopping day at the front of all the action. Don’t miss a thing as more bulls are racing to meet the other end, stopping all in their path. Our trip will end this afternoon, we say goodbye to our new friends and pack up camp.
