Allaround Syria & Jordan & Egypt By Land

Day 1 Damascus

DamascusAt the terminal keep your eyes open for the Travel Talk sign, as we pick you up from the airport and take you to our Damascus hotel. Gather round in the hotel lobby at 6:00pm as we meet both the other tour members and the guide. Listen up for a fast and informal meeting with the leader including registration and a short brief about the adventures ahead and some country info.

Day 2 Full day city tour(Damascus-Palmyra)

After breakfast we will visit high lights of Damascus. Damascus has a wealth of historical sites dating back to many different periods of the city’s history. Since the city has been built up with every passing occupation, it has become almost impossible to excavate all the ruins of Damascus that lie up to 8 feet below the modern level!

Day 3 Palmyra-Homs,Crac Des Chevaliers

Today we will have a full day city tour visiting museum of Palymra,Temple of Bel,Temple of Baalshamin,the great Colonnade,triumphal arch,the agora and the theater of Palmary. The politically important, extremely affluent, 2nd century BC ruinous town is located on the caravan trade routes connecting Persia, India, China and the Roman Empire.. we will also visit Homs and Crac Des Chevaliers.

Day 4 Damascus-Ajloun-BosraJerash-Amman

After breakfast we will drive through the pine forests and olive groves until we reach the ancient Greco Roman city of Jerash.We will discover the colonnaded street,theater,churches,temples and the vast Roman Forum in Jerash.Then we will head our way to visit Borsa.After visiting the old city of Borsa we are going to Amman where we are going to stay overnight.

Day 5 Amman, Wadi Rum

Today, we depart for Wadi Rum. After checking into our desert camp in Wadi Rum, we join a 2 hour Jeep safari in the desert. This evening we also enjoy an authentic Jordanian dinner in Wadi Rum. After chilling out by the desert fire and sharing experiences with our travel mates under a starry sky, we spend the night in our desert camp.

Day 6 Wadi Rum, Petra

After breakfast we depart for a full day tour in the Red Rose City Petra. We embark on an unforgettable trip on horse back and then by foot ‘til we reach the Treasury. Our local guide will provide us with a brief history of the city, which is one of the greatest attractions in the Middle East. We also visit the Pharaoh's Castle, the Triumphal arch and the Amphitheater. We remain in Petra overnight.

Day 7 Petra, Aqaba, Taba, Dahab

Aqaba is strategically important to Jordan as it is the country's only seaport. The town borders Eilat, Israel, and there is a border post where it is possible to cross between the two countries (see Wadi Araba Crossing). Both Aqaba and Eilat are at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba. The town is best known today as a diving and beach resort. In the afternoon we return to Dahab.

Day 8 Dahab, Cairo

After spending the day in Dahab, we'll board our overnight coach back to Cairo in the evening.

Day 9 Cairo City Tour

Our journey continues with a visit to one of the most important museums in the ancient world, the Egyptian Museum houses more than 100,000 relics of Egypt. Today we discover the Citadel of Saladin, Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Hanging Church and the world famous Kahn El Khalili bazaar.

Day 10 Cairo City Tour, Hurghada

After breakfast we visit the Giza Plateau to explore the world famous pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycrenos. The afternoon is left to site-see Sakkara; the first capital of pyramid built by King Zoser in 2700 B.C. In the eveninng we board our bus to Hurghada. We stay overnight in Hurghada.

Day 11 Hurghada, Luxor

Another day to participate in numerous sea or land activities available in Hurghada or spend a relaxing day after a tiring(!) night. In the afternoon we’ll depart for Luxor, the premier travel destination in UIpper Egypt and the Nile Valley. In antiquity, the city, known as Thebes by the Greeks, was the dynastic and religious capital of Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom Egypt. Today, it has much to offer the traveler, from vast temples, to ancient royal tombs, via spectacular desert and river scenery. In the evening we’ll check into our Premium hotel by the River of Nile. After dinner we start to explore the night life of this amazing town.

Day 12 Luxor

Today, after an early breakfast we visit the temple of Luxor on the East Bank of the Nile which was dedicated to the great god Amun, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu (the mood god) together represents the Theban triad. The temple was built on the site of a probable smaller structure for the god Amun, while the earliest parts of the temple seen today date from the 14th century BC and the time of Amenhotep III. In the afternoon we proceed to the Temple of Karnak, one of the most important religious centers of ancient Egypt. Then we depart for the West Bank of the Nile where our donkey awaits to take us into the Valley of the Kings. Next is our discovery of the magnificent “city of the Dead” where tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly, and filled with treasures for the Pharaoh afterlife. Rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is our next stop.Then we drive to Aswan for overnight stay.

Day 13 Aswan

After breakfast we start to explore Aswan, the smallest of the three major tourist cities based on the Nile famous for the amazing Philea Temple and High Dam, an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. After visiting the High Dam we head to Philea Temple and take a short motorboat ride to reach the island. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae Temple has a beautiful setting on an island in the River of Nile. Its various shrines and sanctuaries celebrate the deities involved in the myth of Isis and Osiris. Early in the morning you can join the optional trip to Abu Simbel, one of the most impressive ancient sights of Egypt.

Day 14 Daily Felucca Trip

Today we get back to basics and jump onboard a Felucca sail boat, bound for the Elephantine and Kitchener Islands on the River Nile. After our river excursion the rest of the day is yours free to wander around Aswan as you wish..

Day 15 Edfu, Komombo, Luxor, Cairo

After our Aswan hotel breakfast we head to Edfu to visit the largest and best preserved temple in Egypt. The temple is dedicated to the falcon god Horus and was built over a 180-year period from 237 BC to 57 BC. Then we continue to visit Komombo Temple which was built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. The temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and god Horus. In the evening we board the overnight train to Cairo and check into our sleeper cabin.

Day 16 Cairo

Our trip will end after we say goodbye to our new friends over breakfast, and check-out of the hotel in Cairo (11:00am) Two hours before your flight we bus you back to the airport and bid you safe travels
