Booking Terms and Conditions

We accept bookings subject to the following conditions.

All holidays in this brochure are operated by Travel Talk and sold subject to the following conditions:

1. Reservation & Payment:For standard bookings, a non-refundable deposit of £60 per person is required. All bookings will be confirmed by Travel Talk in writing to the lead passenger along with confirmation of balance payment details.The tour balance for all bookings will be direct debited from the payment details given at the time of booking 60 days prior to the departure date of the tour; if there is a failure to complete payment, Travel Talk reserves the right to cancel the reservation.

For travel show and exhibition bookings a non-refundable deposit of £10 per person is required; Bookings made at the shows are subject to confirmation by Travel Talk.

2. Validity:Dates, itineraries and prices are valid from time of printing this brochure in September 2011 until 31 December 2012. Travel Talk reserve the right to change any of the facilities, services, prices, itineraries or vehicles described in the brochure without being liable for compensation or refund.

3. Cancellation by the Passenger:Cancellations must be made by the passenger in writing to Travel Talk prior to the tour departure to be confirmed as cancelled. Cancellations within the balance payment period (60-0 days prior to departure) are as follows;

- 60 days or more prior to departure, deposit to be retained by Travel Talk

- 59-30 days 70% of tour fee is forfeited;

- 29-15 days 85% of tour fee is forfeited

- 14-0 days 100% of tour fee is forfeited

4. Cancellation by Travel Talk:In the unlikely event of Travel Talk cancelling a tour, Travel Talk will notify the passenger at least 7 days before the departure and will offer the passenger the option of either rebooking for another date/departure or receiving a full refund of the monies paid for the tour (does not cover the flight ticket or any other item which is not related with the tour operated by Travel Talk).

5. Changes by the Passenger:All changes, amendments or additions must be confirmed prior to 60 days of the departure date to avoid cancellation or amendment fees. Note: No new passengers may be added to a booking once completed.

a) Name & Tour Date changes requested within;

60-30 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of £25 per person;

29-15 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of £50 per person;

14 days of departure will be made at the sole discretion of Travel Talk.

b) Tour Destination changes requested within;

60-30 days of departure will incur an amendment fee of £35 per person;

29 days of departure will be made at the sole discretion of Travel Talk.

Changing the tour date and/or the destination is subject to availability of the new requested date and/or the destination. If the revised tour has a higher price and/or local payment, the price difference must be paid by the passenger. It is not possible to transfer the booking to travel dates outside of seasonal dates covered in the Travel Talk brochure or by the relevant edition of the web site valid at the time the original booking was made. Hotelier cancellation charges are liable to be paid by the passenger in the event of booked pre-tour and post-tour accommodation being unused whatever the circumstances are.

6. Changes by Travel Talk:While Travel Talk will endeavour to operate all tours as advertised, reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made where deemed necessary or advisable by Travel Talk. If a major change is made Travel Talk will inform the passenger as soon as reasonably possible before departure. The definition of a major change is deemed to be a change affecting at least one in three full tour days of the itinerary. If the major change is due to force majeure or unforeseen circumstances no compensation is payable. Changes to the itinerary may occur on tour as a result of unforeseen circumstances or local situations. Any changes to the itinerary on tour will be made with full authority of the Tour Leader and any direct or indirect cost incurred as a result will be the responsibility of the passenger.

7. Force Majeure:a) Travel Talk do not accept liability for any loss, damage or expense resulting from war or terrorist activities, threatened or actual, civil unrest, industrial action, weather conditions, fire, flood, drought, airport regulations and closure, unforeseen alterations to public transport schedules, rescheduling of aircrafts, boats, or any type of transportation means or any other event outside our control, which either delays or extends the tour itinerary.b) Travel Talk will not accept any responsibility for any passenger who contravenes any law or regulation of any of the countries visited while on the tour.

8. Travel Insurance:The passenger accepts that the cost of the tour does not include insurance & it is mandatory that all passengers obtain travel insurance while travelling with Travel Talk covering personal injury, medical, repatriation, and evacuation expenses. Passengers must be able to provide proof of adequate insurance cover purchased if requested by the group leader or Travel Talk representative. It is strongly recommended the coverage be extended to include cancellation, curtailment, and all other expenses that might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or inconvenience occurring to the passenger. Travel Talk will not accepts liability for loss, theft of, or damage to baggage or personal effects. Personal belongings lost or stolen while unattended by the passenger in public lounges or other public areas, whether on board a vessel, train, bus, or other mode of transportation, publicly owned or operated by Travel Talk or elsewhere, are not reimbursable. Losses due to ordinary wear and tear or acts of God are not reimbursable. Travel Talk will not accept responsibility for, and in no event shall be liable for loss or damage of valuables or other articles left in or on facilities used by the Travel Talk such as hotels, vessels, expedition vehicles, or any other mode of transportation. When obtaining travel insurance the passenger must ensure the insurer is aware of the type of travel to be undertaken.

9. Complaints:In the event of any dissatisfaction with the service provided by Travel Talk, any issues must be reported immediately to the tour leader so that action can be taken to resolve any inconvenience on tour. Any complaint made after the tour ends must be made in writing directly to Travel Talk Head Office Customer Services, which must be received by Travel Talk within 15 days after completing the tour the complaint is regarding. The comments or complaints written on the surveys are not considered as a formal submission.

10. Visas & Travel Documentation:It is passenger's responsibility to obtain any visas, passports, health certificates or other travel documentation required. It remains the passenger's responsibility to ensure that these documents are in order and meet any additional costs incurred as a result of failure to comply with such requirements.

For all tours (including Russia) visa support documents provided by Travel Talk are only to assist with the visa application & are not valid for travel.

11. Agent Responsibility:It is the responsibility of the Agent to advise Travel Talk of any special requirements of the passenger and to communicate to any changes or alterations advised by Travel Talk.

12. Inclusions:

The tour price includes:

- all accommodation as listed in the Tour Inclusions Section

- all transport listed in the Tour Inclusions Section

- sight-seeing and meals as listed in the Tour Inclusions Section

- the services of a group leader as described in the Tour Inclusions Section

13. Exclusions:

The tour price does not include:

Flights, excess baggage, visas, insurance, extra meals and drinks, items of personal nature, entrance fees, tips, port taxes & fuel supplements, departure taxes, optional activities and all the other services not stated in the 'Inclusions' sections of this brochure.

14. Authority on Tour:Group tours are led by a Travel Talk tour guide or tour leader. The decision of the group leader is final on all matters likely to affect the safety or well-being of any person participating in the tour. Should a passenger fail to comply with a decision made by the group leader, or interfere with the safety or well-being of the group, the group leader may order the passenger to leave the tour immediately, with no right of refund. Passengers must at all times comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange and drug regulations of all countries visited, and also agree to travel in accordance with our responsible travel guidelines.

15. Special Offers & Discounts:Special offers and discounts can only be applied at the time of booking and can not be retrospectively added at a later date, regardless of any later changes made to the original booking. Additional terms & conditions can be added during special campaigns and are solely valid for the specific campaign they refer to. Please see the Travel Talk web site for particular conditions applicable to each offer. In all cases only one discount can apply to a Travel Talk Tour booking. When two or more offers can apply to a booking in all cases only the discount offering the highest saving to the booking will be applied.

16. Local Payment:The Local payment is part of the Travel Talk tour fee and must be paid upon joining the tour; refusal to pay will mean forfeiture of the tour. The Local Payment applicable to each tour is to be paid in cash only. This can be the equivalent in the local currency, Pound Sterling, US Dollar or Euro. The current local payment and taxes are stated on the web site of Travel Talk. If there is any change (increase or decrease) in the cost of the local payment and/or taxes, the current amount stated on the web site will be payable by the passenger.

17. Solo Passengers:All prices are based on double, twin or triple share occupancy. Solo passengers not wishing to pay a single supplement will be accommodated in a double, twin or triple room according to availability with a passenger(s) of the same gender. The single supplement need only be paid if a room to oneself is requested and the single supplement must be paid in addition to the tour fee. Single rooms are not available for ANZAC & some festival tours and on most sailing tours; all rooms are on a shared double, twin, triple and quadruple (Croatia Pirate Boat only) occupancy.

18. Pre & Post Tour Accommodation:All extra accommodation costs must be paid in advance no less than one week prior to the tour departure by the passenger. Unpaid accommodation less than 7 days prior to departure will be considered cancelled. Solo passengers need to book a single room for pre and post tour accommodation for all destinations even when twin share accommodation is booked for the tour itself.

19. Age & Health:Passengers under 18 years old are not permitted on Travel Talk tours. Bookings from persons under 18 will not be accepted. All passengers are expected to satisfy themselves prior to travel that they are fit and able to complete the itinerary of their chosen tour as described in this brochure.

20. Unused Services:Should a passenger fail to join a tour, joins the tour after departure, or leaves the tour prior to completion, no refund will be made.

21. Privacy Policy:Travel Talk will not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

22. When the passenger submits the review form they accept that the feedback and all rights therein, become the sole property of Travel Talk and that Travel Talk shall have the right to make it available to the public on this website and for any purpose and in any media (including for advertising or other commercial use).

23. Photos & Marketing:The passenger consents to Travel Talk using images taken of the passenger during the tour for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium we choose. The passenger grants Travel Talk a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes.
